Barley prices dropped by Rs 23.50 to Rs 1,385.50 per quintal in the futures trading today following weak physical market trend.
Marketmen said besides adequate stocks position, slowdown in demand from beer making industries mainly led the fall in barley prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley prices for December contract dipped by Rs 23.50, or 1.67 per cent, to Rs 1,385.50 per quintal, having an open interest of 340 lots.
Most active January contract slipped by Rs 16, or 1.13 per cent, to Rs 1,396 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,360 lots.
