Barley prices moved up by Rs 20 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today due to pick-up in demand from consuming industries.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said pick-up in demand from consuming industries amid fall in arrivals from producing belts and reports of damage to its crop due to unseasonal rains in growing regions, mainly led to the rise in barley prices.
