Barley prices rolled down by Rs 11 to Rs 1,422.50 per quintal in futures trade today on cutting down exposures by the traders and pessimistic physical cues.
Market players said tracking negative physical markets sentiments due to slackness in demand for beer makers amid increased in supplies from growing regions, traders preferred to off-load holdings, which reflected downward trend in barley futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, barley delivery for May slipped by Rs 11 or 0.77 per cent to Rs 1,422.50 per quintal, having an open interest of 3,820 lots.
While, the delivery of the most traded second contract June eased by Rs 5.50 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,440 per quintal, showing an open interest of 15,070 lots.
