Baroda Dairy to hike milk price by Rs 2 per litre from June 11

The Baroda Dairy announced here today that it has decided to increase the price of milk in the Vadodara market by Rs 2 per litre from June 11.

Talking to PTI here today Baroda Dairy President Dinesh Patel said, "The increase of milk price is in line with the decision taken on June 1 by our parent body, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF)".

Baroda Dairy, which had so far delayed the decision to hike the price of milk, has decided to do so from Thursday, June 11, Patel said.

GCMMF which markets the Amul brand of milk, has already increased the price of all categories of packaged milk by Rs 2 per litre, which has been made applicable in Anand, Kheda and Ahmedabad as well as all districts of the Saurashtra region, he said.
 

After increasing the price of Amul dairy milk on June 1, the GCMMF had left other member unions including the Baroda Dairy to decide about a price hike in their respective markets, he said.

Accordingly, the Baroda dairy has decided to do so from Thursday, June 11, Patel said.

Baroda Dairy, has also decided to pay Rs 20 more per kilogram of fat milk to its about 3 lakhs of milk producers in the district from June 11 Patel said, adding, "So far, milk producers were paid Rs 550 per kilogram of fat milk. Now they will be paid Es 570 per kilogram from June 11, which would lead to a daily increase in milk procurement by Baroda Dairy".
