Base metals ease on poor offtake

Most of the base metals including copper, brass, aluminium, tin and nickel eased further at the non-ferrous metals market here today on stockists' selling amid weak demand from industrial users.

Zinc and lead recovered marginally owing to renewed demand from alloy industries.

Nickel prices dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 815 from Wednesday's close of Rs 825. Aluminium utensils slid by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 120 as against Rs 124 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper billets, aluminium ingots and tin moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 437, Rs 465, Rs 154 and Rs 1,345 as against Rs 550, Rs 468, Rs 157 and Rs 1,348 respectively.
 

Copper armiture, copper utensils, copper sheet cuttings and brass utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 407, Rs 378, Rs 401 and Rs 301 as against Rs 409, Rs 380, Rs 403 and Rs 303 yesterday.

Copper scrap heavy softened to Rs 427 per kg.

However, zinc and lead inched up to Rs 238 and Rs 162.
