Base metals extend gains on firm demand

Most of the base metals including copper, zinc, tin and nickel gained at the non-ferrous metal market Wednesday on heavy stockists' buying amid firm demand from industrial users.

Nickel firmed up by Rs 12 per kg to Rs 952 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 940 and tin rebounded by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 1,427 as against Rs 1,420.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper billets rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 457, Rs 452 and Rs 485 as compared to Rs 452, Rs 447 and Rs 480 yesterday, respectively.

Copper armature and copper utensils scrap moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 445 and Rs 421 from Rs 442 and Rs 418, respectively.

 

Copper sheet cuttings and zinc edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 442 and Rs 213 as against Rs 440 and Rs 211 previously, respectively.
