Base metal prices drifted further lower by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market Tuesday, tracking a weak trend overseas amid muted demand from consuming industries.
Traders said sentiments remained subdued largely in line with weak trend overseas as an intensifying trade war between Washington and Beijing raised concerns over demand for industrial metals in top consumer China, weighed on copper futures.
Globally, copper for three-month delivery slid 2.2 per cent to USD 6,214 per metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
Furthermore easing demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, too weighed on prices.
