Base metals gain on good industrial demand

Most base metals, including copper, brass sheet cuttings, aluminium, lead, tin and nickel, gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on buying by stockist as well as good demand from industrial users.

Meanwhile, zinc and brass utensils scrap slid owing to poor demand from alloy industries.

Tin prices climbed by Rs 25 per kg to Rs 1,290 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,265 and nickel surged by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 730 as against to Rs 715.

Copper sheet cuttings rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 373 as compared to yesterday's closing level of Rs 368. Copper armiture moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 375 as against Rs 372.
 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils, copper wire bar, aluminium ingots and lead prices also edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 385, Rs 379, Rs 355, Rs 413, Rs 141 and Rs 132 as compared to Rs 383, Rs 377, Rs 352, Rs 411, Rs 139 and Rs 130 respectively.

Brass sheet cuttings and aluminium utensils inched up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 293 and Rs 116.

However, zinc declined by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 188 from Rs 195 and brass utensils scrap eased by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 286 as against to Rs 289 previously.
