Base metals gain on rising demand

Select base metals including copper, brass, zinc, lead and tin prices gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid rising demand from industrial users.

However, nickel prices declined due to lower demand from alloy industries.

Tin prices regained by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,270 from Thursday's close Rs 1,265.

Lead and copper scrap heavy rose by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 134 and Rs 370 from yesterday's close Rs 131 and Rs 367.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils, copper wire bar, copper sheet cuttings and zinc edged up by a Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 374, Rs 340, Rs 402, Rs 359 and Rs 171 as compared to Rs 372, Rs 338, Rs 400, Rs 357 and Rs 169 previously.
 

Copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 364, Rs 267 and Rs 275, respectively.

While, nickel prices eased by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 685 as against Rs 690 yesterday.
