Base metal prices rose by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today amid positive global cues and increased demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market.
Traders said sentiment turned better on the back of firming global trend where zinc advanced to trade near a three-month high due to a weaker dollar and signs of tighter global supply.
Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months rose 0.8 per cent to USD 1,737.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, Zinc ingot and copper scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 90-96 and Rs 341 per kg, respectively.
Nickel plate (4x4), lead ingots and lead imported also moved up by a similar margin to Rs 817-822, 76 and Rs 82 per kg, respectively.
In line with the overall trend, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap also enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 144, Rs 140, Rs 140 and Rs 138 per kg, respectively.
