Base metals strengthen on fresh demand

Base metals recovered by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market Wednesday following pick-up in demand from consuming industries.

Traders said up-tick in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, led to the recovery in base metal prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) edged up by Rs 2 each to Rs 445 and Rs 935-937 per kg, respectively.

Zing ingot, lead ingot and lead imported also enquired traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 141-147, Rs 148 and Rs 155 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 141-147, nickel plate (4x4) Rs 935-937, gun metal scrap Rs 227, bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 445, chadri deshi Rs 295.

 

Lead ingot Rs 148, lead imported Rs 155, aluminium ingots Rs 170, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 166, aluminium wire scrap Rs 166 and

aluminium utensils scrap Rs 164.
