Niti Aayog will come out with baseline data on various socio-economic indicators such as water, health and education among others in a month, its CEO Amitabh Kant said today.

Stressing that the "real challenge for India is to improve its social indices", Kant said: "One of the things that Niti Aayog has worked on for the last three-four months is to work on similar parameters across education, health and water and now we are doing this on agriculture."

The Aayog has consulted different states and they are very keen to find out the level of improvement in their performances across various social sectors, he said adding that "the data has been made available to them and probably in a month's time we will roll this out".

Addressing the Global Investors India Forum organised by Assocham, Kant also highlighted the initiatives taken by the government to improve the ease of doing business in the country.

He further said that India is growing at 7.5 per cent per annum, but the challenge before the country is to sustain 9-10 per cent growth rate year after year for the next three decades.
