With a view to ensuring minimum basic courtesies to the citizens approaching various organs of the government for individual or public matters, the Haryana government has decided that all replies to the citizens would invariably begin with the use of word 'Sir' or 'Madam'.
"Extension of minimum basic courtesies to the citizens forms an integral part of good governance. All such communications should receive careful consideration and should be responded at an appropriate level, and expeditiously.
"The name, designation, telephone number, fax number and e-mail of officer signing the communication should be indicated in the communication, wherever applicable," an official release said here today.
