India's Basil Khuma and Sathwika Sama will have to beat national winners from Brazil and China in the Play-off matches to win wild card for the junior French Open as format of 'Rendez-Vous' was released today.

National winners of the 'Rendez-Vous' - a Roland Garros event - from India Brazil and China will play in a Round-Robin format against each other. A player will have to beat two other players to win the wild card for the junior French Open.

If none of the three players succeed in winning two matches (each player gets one win and one defeat), the wild card winner will be designated based on the set average.

If there is tie between players, the wild card winner will be designated based on the game average.

If still there is tie between players, the wild card winner will be the winner of the match between the two players.

The matches will be played on May 24 and players will compete in both the matches the same day. The playoff matches to win the wild cards for the French Open will be held on the Champ-de-Mars, right in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Basil and Sathwika had emerged winners of the 'Rendez-Vous', an under-18 competition, early this month here.

Top-16 boys and girls competed in the event from April 1 to 4 and eventually 17-year-old Basil from Mizoram won the boys event with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Alex Solanki in the final.

The 15-year-old Hyderabadi, Sathwika beat Jennifer Luikham 6-3, 6-4 to win the girls competition.

'Rendez-Vous' is a joint initiative of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and French Tennis Federation (FTT) to help junior players earn an opportunity to play in the junior French open.
