Bathinda coldest at 4.5 C as cold weather prevails in Pb & Hry

Bathinda was the coldest place in Punjab today recording a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius as cold weather conditions prevailed in the state and neighbouring Haryana.

Piercing cold swept Adampur and Amritsar as well, recording respective minimum temperature of 4.6 deg C and 4.8 deg C, a MeT Department official said here.

Ludhiana, Halwara and Pathankot experienced a cold night recording respective minimum temperature of 8.3 deg C, 5.6 deg C and 5.3 deg C.

Patiala, however, recorded above normal low of 9.1 deg C.

The night temperature in Chandigarh settled at 8.2 deg C.

In Haryana, Hisar continued to remain the coldest place recording a low of 5.9 degrees Celsius today.
 

Karnal braved the chill at 7.5 degrees, while Narnaul recorded a low of 8.5 deg C.

Bhiwani and Sirsa, too, experienced cold weather recording respective minimums of 6.8 deg C and 7.3 deg C.

However, Rohtak and Ambala recorded above normal minimum temperature at 9.7 deg C and 9.1 deg C.

The MeT official said fog had lifted today and the sky was clear at most places in the two states including Chandigarh.
