Hockey India President Narinder Batra today objected to the appointment of Indian Olympic Association Joint Secretary Rakesh Gupta as the Chef de Mission of the country's contingent for next year's Rio Olympic Games.
"Please note my objection to the name of Mr Rakesh Gupta as Chef de Mission of India to Rio Olympics," Batra said in a letter to IOA officials.
"I feel Mr Gupta is not at all competent and capable to be the Chef de Mission. His name may please be changed," he added.
