Gour Khyapa(65), who had suffered serious injuries in the car accident at Ilambazar near Shantiniketan on January 22, succumbed to his injuries at the state-run SSKM Hospital here, official sources said.
He is survived by his wife Parvati and daughter Lakshmi.
Among the last of the older generation of bauls, Gour Khyapa had visited several countries in the West and mesmerised the audience there with the mysticism of baul songs.
State ministers Arup Biswas and Chandranath Sinha would accompany the body of the singer to his residence in Shantiniketan as per Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's directive, the sources said.
