Paying his tribute to former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan Papon today expressed BCB's desire to have an exchange programme with the Cricket Association of Bengal.

Papon, along with the BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury, today called on BCCI's New Area Development Committee Chairman Avishek Dalmiya at his residence and discussed about the exchange programme between the two countries.

"They spoke about how the CAB and BCB could further strengthen the exchange programmes. As part of such plans, they would visit Bengal Cricket Academy (in Kalyani) in near future," Avishek said.

There's also a plan in place that Bangladeshi players may take part in CAB's Vision 2020 which has former Indian batsman VVS Laxman and Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, among others, on board.

"They are keen to develop the spinner's wing. Especially with regard to emerging talents and would soon work out a proposal. We also discussed about players from Bangladesh training at CAB's Vision 2020 camps," Avishek said. "Also, we would explore whether we can work out something with regard to the New Area Development Committee. In the next meeting, we may discuss the prospects. This would however would have to be routed via the BCCI," he said.

While presenting a memorabilia as a tribute to former president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Papon also invited the late BCCI President' wife Chandralekha and Avishek to Bangladesh so that a meeting with the Bangladesh Prime Minister could be organised in this regard.

"We are thankful for all the support that has provided over the years. We hope to strengthen our bonds further," Avishek said.
