Indian Cricket Board's (BCCI) official scorer Sathuri Kamalakara Rao, (54) passed away here today due to illness.
He is survived by his wife and a son.
He started his cricketing career as a wicket-keeper batsman from Vizag Greens Cricket Club. Later, he joined South Eastern Railway and participated in the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) and Inter-Divisional Railway Tournament in the 1980s.

Later in 1997, he appeared for All India BCCI Panel Scorers' Examination held at Nagpur and was the first person to become a BCCI panel scorer from VDCA and the Andhra Cricket Association.
He officiated as official scorer for several ODI matches, Ranji Trophy matches and BCCI domestic tournaments.
VDCA president P Vishun Kumar Raju, secretary K Parthasaradhi and several office bearers of the VDCA condoled the death of Kamalakara Rao.
