Madras High Court Bench has sought a reply from Bar Council of India on a petition seeking to ban LLB graduates from unauthorised colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka from practicing as lawyers in Tamil Nadu.
Petitioner V Ramesh contended that many persons in the state procured law degrees from unauthorised colleges in these two states by paying money and enroll themselves as advocates in various courts across Tamil Nadu.
They obtained bogus degree without attending regular college and the examinations are written by agents/brokers, who sell the seats to candidates from Tamil Nadu, he alleged.
