Chairman of Banking Codes and Standards Boards of India (BCSBI) A C Mahajan today said if a fake note was received while drawing money from an ATM, then the customer should immediately complain to the bank manager with a witness and evidence and get it changed for a genuine one.
He was addressing a customers' awareness meet here, when he was asked by a woman as to what she should do if she received a fake note while drawing money from an ATM.
Mahajan advised another customer to give a complaint to him when the customer said his work was getting delayed due to the shortage of staff in his bank.

The deliberation focussed on importance of BCSBI codes and its role in protecting the consumer rights, among others.
"BCSBI codes aim at ensuring that consumers are treated fairly and in a transparent manner and the key insight behind this meet is to enhance awareness of these codes among customers," he said.
Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd. Manager Sangeetha Shankar made a presentation of various aspects relating to recording of credit history of customers by credit information companies.
