A Block Development Officer (BDO) was today placed under suspension for underperformance in implementing Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, an official spokesman said.
District administration Rajouri ordered the suspension of the Kalakote BDO for underperformance in the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and dereliction of duties, he said.
He said the move came after the BDO did not turn up at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner (Rajouri) Shahid Iqbal Choudhary to review progress made under the cleanliness drive and data reflected dismal performance in Kalakote block with only 19 per cent geo-tagged individual household toilets.
