Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon state government officers and staffers to become more sensitive towards the human rights of the common man.
Inaugurating a seminar organised by Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC) here, Hooda said having a clean, efficient, transparent and honest administration was a fundamental right of the people in a democracy and the negation of that principle was akin to taking away from their rights.
He said that "living a life only was not a right" but the right was for "living life with dignity and freedom" and Haryana was the first state where such rights were available to the people.
The keynote address at the event was delivered by former Chief Election Commissioner, SY Quraishi.
