Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today asked the district collectors to be more sensitive while carrying out relief works in the prevailing drought-like situation.
A drought-like situation is prevailing in nearly 14,000 villages of 19 districts and the chief minister has directed the officers to provide timely relief.
In remaining districts, locals should be supported under MGNREGA and such other programmes, Raje said after inaugurating a conference of district collectors and SPs here today.
She said her government is committed to improving 'Khushhali (happiness) Index' of Rajasthan and take it to the league of top performing states.
Raje said officers and other stakeholders should gear up to achieve the vision of a healthy, educated, gender sensitive, economically well-developed and prosperous Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister directed the collectors to focus on Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme and Aarogya Rajasthan. She asked the officers to focus on the welfare of senior citizens and children, improve drinking water and electricity supply and curb seasonal diseases.
In the wake of the recent deaths of children with special needs here, She asked the collectors and other officers to do regular and surprise inspections of homes for the specially-abled, children's homes, hostels and old-age homes.
"There should be no deficiency in supply of quality food, safe drinking water, health services, sanitation and other facilities in these homes," a release quoting her said.
She emphasized on giving special attention to labour
welfare schemes and information technology services along with the flagship schemes of the state government.
The CM asked the collectors to make weekly review of seasonal diseases and supply of water and electricity. Also, the sub-division level officers should be asked to hold regular meetings for time-bound redress of public grievances.
Raje said, the health problems identified during the Aarogya Rajasthan campaign should be promptly responded to with prompt distribution of medicines, medical equipments and surgeries, among others.
She emphasised on taking support from public representatives and non-government organisations in this endeavour.
Expressing anguish at absenteeism in hospitals, the Chief Minister directed strict action to be taken against such employees.
Raje said administrative behaviour and personal conduct of the collectors should be fair and above board.
She said the government had "zero tolerance" to negligence, corruption and non-functioning of officers, the release said.
Chief Secretary CS Rajan shared the details of the three-day conference.
Members of the Council of Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and the senior-most officers of all departments attended the conference.
