Bedi hails National Health protection scheme

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today hailed theNational Health Protection Scheme announced by Union Finance Minister in the 2018-19 budget today.

"Finally five hundred million in India move into Health care protection. Call it as 'Modicare' leading to a partnership between the Primary Health Centres with the nearby private hospitals when needed", she said in a twitter.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said that the budget has "let down" farmers and also the youth as there was no specific scheme to come to the rescue of agriculturists and unemployed youth.

He said that the Union Territory of Puducherry has also been ignored in allocation of funds.
 

The budget hascome as a disappointment to the farmers as there was no specific scheme to prevent farmers suicides, he said.

Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister N. Rangasamy (AINRC) complimented the budget.

The announcement of Universal Health Protection scheme was one of the important features of the budget as the poor would get the benefit of the scheme.
