Bureau of Energy Efficiency said today that it has signed two pacts in petrochemical and appliances sectors.
The first MoU was signed with Engineers India Ltd (EIL) for implementation of energy efficiency in petrochemical sector, under the Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme, a BEE statement said.
The second MoU was signed with National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) to establish a mechanism to provide accreditation services to support implementation of BEE's Standard and Labelling programme.
EIL is undertaking various consultancy activities focused on oil, gas and petrochemical industries. The total energy consumption of the cracker units under PAT cycle-IV is around 2.8 MTOE and the estimated energy saving from this sector after three years would be 0.228 MTOE.
The pact with NABCB will provide Product Certification bodies such as Independent Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation (IAME) under Standard & Labelling programme to implement regulatory framework.
