The Indian community in Beijing has celebrated the annual Indian Day with music and colourful dances with large participation of Beijing based Indian professionals working here in the Chinese capital.

Addressing the colourful function, the Charge d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy, Bala B Bhaskar urged the growing number of Indians to take the lead in encouraging Chinese firms to step up their investments in India.

The current round efforts by India and China culminating with the visit Chinese President Xi Jinping to India has created enthusiasm in China about prospects of investments in India, he said addressing the function organised by the Indian Community of Beijing here yesterday.

Bhaskar said while several agreements have been signed during Xi's visit to step up investments in India, including setting up of two Industrial Parks, there is enthusiasm to go for more such investments among Chinese firms.

The Chinese firms face difficulties like diverse language and communication in different places in India.

In this context, the Indian community in China has an important role to play, he said.

The Indian professionals in China should help facilitate investment promotions in their areas of expertise, he said.

The fun-filled evening was celebrated with Bollywood music with a home grown orchestra.
