Actor Rob Lowe says people generally assume that those who are good looking lead a blessed life.

The 50-year-old star said that there is an unbelievable bias and prejudice against good-looking people that they cannot be in pain or have rough lives, reported New York Times.

"There's this unbelievable bias and prejudice against quote-unquote good-looking people, that they can't be in pain or they can't have rough lives or be deep or interesting," he said.

"They can't be any of the things that you long to play as an actor. I'm getting to play those parts now and loving it. When I was a teen, I was so pretty I wouldn't have taken myself seriously," he added.

Lowe's upcoming movie 'Sex Tape', which also stars actress Cameron Diaz and actor Jason Segel, will be releasing this year on July 25.
