Pop band Belle & Sebastian will perform live at the premiere of Sundance Award-winning musical film 'God Help The Girl'.

The premiere will take place on August 16 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The film will also be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK, reported Digital Spy.

Following the screening, Belle & Sebastian will perform live on stage, playing their own material and songs from the film, with the 'God Help The Girl' singers. The film's soundtrack was originally released in 2009.

'God Help The Girl' is a coming of age story set during one Glasgow summer, which tells the tale of a young girl attempting to enter adult life through an indie pop soundtrack.

The film, written and directed by Belle & Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch, stars Emily Browning, Olly Alexander and Hannah Murray, who is known for her role as Cassie in 'Skins'.

'God Help The Girl' will be released in UK cinemas on August 22.
