State-run BEML Ltd today said it has rolled out 136th metro car to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRCL) for its RS6 project.
It is the final consignment for deployment in the RS6 project of Delhi Metro, the company in a release said.
With the roll out of the 136th metro car, BEML has fulfilled all the contractual obligations and supplied the entire lot of consignment on time, it added.

BEML had bagged the order worth Rs 923.44 crore from Delhi Metro in March 2011 for the supply of 136 intermediate cars for its RS-6 Project for replacing the existing 4-car train sets to 6-car train sets for enhancing passenger carrying capacity.
The company said with this successful execution, BEML has also substantially curtailed foreign exchange outflow from India and has proven successful absorption of niche technology leading to self-reliance of the country in the urban rail transport sector.
Stating that BEML has emerged as the preferred destination of metro coach manufacture in the country, the release said it has so far supplied more than 520 metro coaches to Delhi Metro, 144 coaches to Bangalore Metro and 36 coaches to Jaipur Metro.
Thus, the company has so far rolled out more than 700 metro cars to various metro corporations in India, it added.
