The film's producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have confirmed the 30-year-old actor, who is best known for roles in "Layer Cake" and "Brideshead Revisited" will be following in the footsteps of stars including John Cleese and Desmond Llewelyn, reported Daily Mail.
"It's a real thrill to confirm the return of Q in 'Skyfall' played by the enormously talented, Ben Whishaw. We are delighted to have this beloved character back in the series," said the producer duo.
Directed by Sam Mendes, "Skyfall" will see actor Daniel Craig playing the James Bond's character for the third time.
