'Sherlock and The Imitation Game' star Benedict Cumberbatch has been immortalized in wax, with a life-size statue of the star joining the lineup of A-list doppelgangers at Madame Tussauds in London.

"I'm excited to see the finished, perfect, waxy me, although slightly terrified. The work is so detailed it's going to feel a little uncomfortable and surreal seeing what I really look like," the actor said in a statement.

The Oscar-tipped 'Imitation Game' actor sat with the museum's studio team for two sessions, with hundreds of measurements taken and photos captured for use by its sculptors and artists, who worked for months on the waxwork, said the Hollywood Reporter.

"We had so many visits to our website on the day we announced we were creating Benedict's figure that our system nearly crashed," revealed the museum's general manager, Ben Sweet.

According to Tussauds, Cumberbatch's waxwork appearance is "premiere ready", showing him looking groomed in a dark suit donated by designer Spencer Hart.
