The West Bengal government and Bihar government today signed an MoU for strengthening the inter-state bus service.
Bengal government officials said this MoU was signed after 1998 and under the new agreement 1,200 new buses will ply on 45 routes.
State Transport Secretary Alapon Bandhyopadhay and Bihar Principal Secretary-cum-Commissioner Commerce Sujata Chaturvedi were present at the MoU signing.
The new routes will connect North Bengal towns with various towns in Bihar.
Additionally, the new revived bus routes will immensely help Bihari migrants coming to Bengal for livelihood.
