Bengal global business summit to start on January 20

The third edition of Bengal Global Business Summit will start on January 20 with around 3,000 delegates from countries like Germany, Poland, China, Japan and Russia as well as representatives from Indian states scheduled to attend it.

The two-day summit will have inaugural plenary and seminars on the opening day, state finance minister Amit Mitra today said at the state secretariat.

Parallel sectoral sessions on maritime, Inland Waterways, Transport & Civil Aviation, auto & auto ancillary, manufacturing in defence besides, sports goods manufacturing & SME vendor development will be held on the second day of the summit, Mitra said.

Along with this, there would be sectoral sessions on mining, energy (renewables and CGD), manufacturing of energy equipment, chemicals and fertilizers, food processing, horticulture, fisheries, agriculture and allied industries, health, education, skill development, IT & ITeS, he said.
 

There would be sessions on urban development and urban infrastructure, sports infrastructure, financial services and legal services, hospitality, tourism and business of entertainment, the minister said.

The state government is also expecting around 2,500 participants in the breakaway sessions, he said.
