"The Trinamool Congress have failed to do anything in the state. The situation is worse than even what was during the previous Left Front regime," Chowdhury told reporters here.
The relationship between the Congress and the TMC has been under strain in the state, where they have an alliance to run the government.
The MP also criticised the requisitioning of 500 buses by the state government for a function which would be attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on August 30.
"This is unprecedented. Never before in the history has this happened before. Taking so many buses out of the roads will result in a collapse of the transport system," the Congress leader said.
