The West Bengal government today said it has taken all measures to ensure steady power supply during the festive occasion of Durga Puja next month.
"We have taken all measures to ensure steady power supply across the state during the festive season," State Power Minister Shobhondeb Chatterjee said here today.
"We held a meeting today with Coal India and Railways for steady supply of coal to feed the power plants. They have assured us," the Minister said.

WBSEDCL has also decided to keep mobile contingency to rush emergency services in case of faults and breakdowns.
Chatterjee said the government is committed to check power theft and plans to bring down transmission and distribution losses to 21 per cent from 27 per cent.
The Minister said that despite pressure from regulator, the state government is not keen on raising the power tariff further at this point.
The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) had raised its average tariff by 23 paise last month.
