The West Bengal government has no role in reopening of the Ess Dee Aluminium's Kamarhati unit, its Labour Minister Malay Ghatak told the Assembly today.
Replying to a question on whether the state is taking any action in reopening of Ess Dee's Kamarhati unit, Ghatak said as the company had not announced any lock-out or closure, the question of reopening did not arise.
A company requires state's permission for lock-out or closure, but if it is suspension of work no permission is required, Ghatak told PTI later.
