"We want to develop the area and have alloted Rs 7 crore for building infrastructure like roads and lights. There will be guest houses for pilgrims," she said at a function here.
The Railways had announced a 18 km rail line from Dankuni till Furfura Sharif two years ago.
"It is getting delayed due to opposition by local people in land acquisition," Banerjee said adding that a rail factory will be inaugurated in the next few days.
Hitting out at the erstwhile Left Front government, she alleged her predecessors didn't do anything to solve the problem of unemployment, she said her government has created 6 lakh jobs in the state in the last one year of their rule.
