West Bengal Assembly was today adjourned after obituary references were made as a mark of respect to six eminent persons and former members of the House who died recently.
The Speaker Biman Banerjee read out details about their lives and contribution and the members in the House later observed two minutes' silence as a mark of respect to the deceased, whose obituary references were made.
The six persons include former Chairman of erstwhile Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) Subhash Ghishing, former Olympic gold medal winning hockey player Jaswant Singh Rajput, legendary jatra exponent Makhan Lal Natta and Former Minister of State Sunil Kumar Mazumdar, besides former MLAs Ashoke Mukherjee and Dr Qamre Elahi.
