Bengal open to Canadian tech for green city mission

West Bengal is open to Canadian technology for smart and green city mission, a top state bureaucrat said here today.

"We are open to international technology including Canadian, for smart and green city mission taken up by the State government," Additional Chief Secretary and WBHIDCO Chairman Debashis Sen said today while addressing an interactive session on Indo-Canada trade at Bharat Chamber of Commerce.

Sen said Bengal is working towards inking a pact with the Canadian establishments and also held dialogues with Canadian High Commission in this regard.

He, however, declined to divulge further details of the proposed MoU with Canadian entities.
 

A 12-member trade delegation from Canada has arrived in the city to explore business opportunity.

On the occasion, Bharat Chamber of Commerce signed an MoU with Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce for a preliminary exploration for areas of cooperation.

Bonnie Crombie, Mayor of city of Mississauga, is also part of the delegation and sought FDI in the city highlighting benefits of investing in the young city of Canada.
