West Bengal speaker Biman Banerjee today asked Trinamool Congress MLA Abdul Khaleque Mollah to submit his mobile to him while the debate on state budget was going on.
When another Trinamool Congress MLA Pulin Behari Roy started speaking on the budget just after the recess, the mobile phone of Mollah, who was sitting next to Roy, began to ring.
Banerjee asked the member to submit the mobile to him else he would ask the marshall to sieze it.

Mollah then went up to the Speaker and handed over his mobile to him. Later, it was returned when he was leaving the assembly.
When the session resumed after the break, RSP member Bishwanath Chaudhury drew the attention of the Speaker saying that the attendance of the members from both the ruling and opposition parties was thin and the debate be put on hold since the issue under discussion was very important.
Banerjee said there was quorum in the house and the debate could continue. Also it was advisable that members from both the camps should be serious in attending the house.
