Announcing this after a meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today, the state's Finance Minister Amit Mitra said altogether 20 per cent of 14,000 college teachers (2,800 teachers) would be benefited.
Implementation of the scheme would cost the government about Rs 12 crore annually, Mitra said.
Chairman of the West Bengal Higher Education Council Sugata Marjit, who was also present at the meeting, said the recruitment process through College Service Commission, which was not regular in the recent past, would begin soon.
With the regularisation of this process through the Commission, educated youth looking for a chance would be immensely benefited, Marjit said.
