After a decade, the popular Bengali serial 'Khela' (game) has been remade into Hindi with popular TV star Sanjeeda Sheikh starring in a prominent role.

The new show 'Badalte Rishton Ki Daastan' is the story of two women with contrasting characters and backgrounds who unite to challenge the patriarchal family structures and male authority in director Ravi Ojha's show. He was also behind the Bengali version.

The starcast of the Zee TV show includes Sheikh, Kiran Karmakar, Additi Gupta and Abhinav Shukla.

Sheikh, who plays the character of 'Meera' in the show, said, "My character is a very strong-headed girl. She does what she wants to do but at the same time she is very insecure and very soft-hearted. She is constantly in search of something."

Sheikh did not see the Bengali version to give a original performance.

On the relevance of decade-old show in contemporary times, Sheikh said, "'Badalte Rishton ki Daastan' has enough masala to keep the audiences hooked from day one. It is a proper family drama. Even the earlier show was quite ahead of times so to say."

The actress said her character "is a very bubbly and positive girl though she is a haunted soul. To display both the contrasting emotions was a difficult task."

She was last seen in 'Piya Ka Ghar Pyaara Lage' on Sahara One. She won the popular celebrity dance show 'Nach Baliye 3' with her husband/television actor Aamir Ali.

The actress will also be seen performing in 'CID Veerta Awards'.
