Before hatching plans of becoming prime minister, BJP leader Narendra Modi should contest Lok Sabha poll and take experience of Parliament for 10 years, Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma today said.

"Modi should first win Lok Sabha polls and take experience of Parliament for 10 years before desiring to become prime minister," Verma said.

He was here to lay foundation stone of a steel processing unit.

On February 14, BJP president Rajnath Singh said that Modi will contest the Lok Sabha polls and his party will decide his seat.

"There has been no decision yet on where Narendra bhai will contest elections from. He could contest from Gujarat or elsewhere. That will be decided by the central election committee," Singh said.

Verma also alleged that both BJP and SP are befooling common man to win elections by showing that both of them were against each other.

"SP and BJP are showing that they are against each other but it was not so... They are befooling people to win elections," he said.

Beni said that in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, SP would have to taste defeat and its Lok Sabha seats would come down drastically.
