Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today accused the Congress of indulging in cheap politics by criticising SAD-BJP government's Sangat Darshan programmes, saying this had exposed the party's "anti-people face".
"Devoid of any issue, the state Congress is indulging in cheap tactics by opposing the Sangat Darshan programmes just for scoring brownie points in the media.
"This has exposed the party's anti-people face. This also shows the Congress can go to any extent to derail the process of development in the state," Badal told a gathering here.

The Chief Minister said the concept of Sangat Darshan was an integral part of governance virtually bringing the government at the doorsteps of people which had bridged the communication gap between masses and the administration.
"The Sangat Darshan programmes help us to evaluate the performance of officers of various departments. This further helps us to provide an effective, accountable and transparent governance to people," Badal said.
Taking a dig at the state Congress leadership, he said it had become a fashion among Congress leaders to criticise every constructive work of the state government without dwelling on its merit and demerits.
Alleging the Congress leaders were opposing the Sangat Darshan for their vested interests, he said nobody could deter him for holding such programmes.
