The Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will set up ten more border outposts along Indo-Bangla international border in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of the neighbouring country to stop trans-border movement of untoward elements and check smuggling and infiltration.

"BGB has agreed to make tighter its border and erect ten more border outposts (BOPs) in CHT bordering Tripura and Mizoram," BSF spokesman and DIG DS Bhati told reporters today.

Various issues related to the security of the two neighbouring countries were discussed at a five-day sector commander level meeting, which concluded yesterday at Salbagan - the BSF headquarters of Tripura.

A five-member BGB delegation to the meeting was led by Colonel Sajjad Hossain and BSF delegation was led by Deputy Inspector General of Panisagar sector D K Sharma and Teliamura Sector DIG Rajeev Sinha.

Tripura shares 856 km long border with Bangladesh while Mizoram shares 318 km border with the country.
