Bhajan singer Anup Jalota's wife dies in US

Bhajan maestro Anup Jalota's wife Medha, who was sick for quite some time, has died in US following multiple organ failure.

Medha was admitted to a hospital in New Jersey almost two months ago. She had undergone a number of surgeries. Medha died yesterday morning.

Medha, who was the niece of former Indian Prime Minister, Inder Kumar Gujral, is survived by her husband and their 18-year-old son, Aryaman.

Medha's former husband filmmaker Shekhar Kapur took to twitter to condole her death.

"Probably the bravest person I ever knew. Medha Jalota. Rest in Peace Medha. You showed that life can be lived and loved despite all odds," Kapur posted.
 

The 'Mr India' director and Medha divorced in 1994.

Kapur's former wife and actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, also expressed her grief over Medha's death.

"The bravest woman I know. Rest in peace Medha Jalota."

Actress Ponnam Dhillon tweeted, "Woke up to the extremely sad news of a dear friend Medha Jalota passing away in New York. My deepest condolence to Anup Jalota. Will miss her."

Calling Medha brave and beautiful, author and columnist Shobhaa De, tweeted, "RIP Medha Jalota. Brave and beautiful till the very end.
