Some unknown persons allegedly attempted to breach the Mumbai-Ambala pipeline of state-owned Bharat Petroleum and tried to take out petroleum product between villages Semari and Chaunpura, under Chhatta Kotwali in the district, police said today.
A patrol party of Bharat Petroleum today detected the breach by suspected oil mafia who tried to steal the petroleum products by placing a valve on the pipeline.
The police, however, said no culprits would go scot free.

About two years ago, fields of few farmers were filled with petrol after some unknown persons tried to fit a valve on the pipeline and steal the petro-products.
