A special court today posted for February 8 the hearing of a bail petition filed by Bharathiar University Vice-Chancellor A Ganapathy, who was recently arrested on bribery charges.
When the case came up for hearing before the court (Prevention of Corruption Act), special Judge John Mino posted the case for Thursday and directed the government to respond to the petition by that day, as sought by the public prosecutor.
Ganapathy was arrested on February 3 for allegedly accepting Rs 30 lakh as bribe from an aspirant for the post of an assistant professor.
