Fintech company BharatPe Friday said it aims to disburse loans worth over Rs 70 crore this year. Within the current month, small- and mid-sized shopkeepers are expected to avail loans worth over Rs 7 crore from the platform, a statement said.
The company has partnered with Apollo Finvest for the initiative, it added.
"Digital lending for small shopkeepers was non-existent till a few months back, and we are building this opportunity brick by brick to help the growth aspirations of over 1 crore small and medium retailers in India, over the next 5 years," BharatPe co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ashneer Grover said.

CollegeDekho acquires Scholarship Facilitation Services
* Edutech start-up CollegeDekho Friday said it has acquired Delhi-based Scholarship Facilitation Services (SFS) for an undisclosed amount.
SFS provides guidance and other allied services to students interested in studying abroad. "This acquisition will further strengthen CollegeDekho's reach to students who are looking to study in the US, Europe and South East Asian markets," a statement said.
CollegeDekho and SFS are aiming to increase their satellite test prep and counselling centres to 25 by 2020, it added. It started its study-abroad business in 2017 and has already assisted students for admission in countries such as Canada, Philippines, Germany, Ukraine and Russia. SFS' expertise and experience is apt for CollegeDekho to build and expand its horizon across the globe, the statement said.
